actif  Sujet n° 187  emacs, particular Carbon Emacs, on OSX

I have been using EE on windows and linux for some time now. I find it very convenient; thanks, globs!

I am having trouble getting it to use emacs on OSX. I'd like to be able to use the Carbon Emacs package:
but opening a with terminal emacs would be ok too.

I have set the editor path in preferences to <path>/

which appears to make nothing happen when I click on the edit button in the compose window.

I have also tried:
/Applications/Utilities/  emacs

which just opens a terminal. Suggestions gratefully received. I suspect I'm close, but I'm new to OSX yet and don't really know how to poke at it like I do linux.

I don't know Emacs at all (shame on me, but I'm a NEdit lover). what you need is to find out if Emacs can be launched in a terminal without forking, i.e. the terminal must be blocked as long as you have not exited from Emacs. You might have to specify some command line options for that,I don't know. But if you achieve this, It shold then work in EE.
