I'm a mac user too. But accessing an extension option panel is works the same way on all OSs: Menu Tools>>Extensions, then select the extension and click the option (or preference) button (or right-click on the extension).
Everything is set in this dialog box.

One exception though: if you decide to activate the "check interval in second" option, the account panel is modified: the interval is set in seconds instead of minutes, but you still set the actual value in the account panel.
