I have the same behaviour here (slow with Safari on 127.0.0.1). I did'nt notice it before because I had no local network when I developped WiPhA. I just installed my router a few weeks ago.
My friend suggests it may be related with the dns resolution, but I don't really know how to troubleshot it.
