I have an Intel box with 10.4.5.
I use DynDNS to register a given name to myself (fake.bounceme.net), and my router forwards port 80 to the Intel box's IP address. 
This setup worked great when I had a PPC Mac laptop handling this, but I don't want my laptop always tethered to the router.

When I go to fake.bounceme.net/~myname/wipha, from my internal network, it works great, but replaces "fake.bounceme.net" with my Intel box's computername.  Done locally, that's not a problem.

When I go to fake.bouceme.net/~myname/wipha, from a machine on the public internet, it replaces "fake.bounceme.net" with my Intel box's computer, and Safari says "Safari can't open the page "http://400sc.local/~myname/wipha/" because it can't find the server 400sc.local.

400sc is my Intel Mac box's name.

Why did it work before, when my router forwarded port 80 to my PPC laptop?  Why didn't my laptop's name get injected in there and mess everything up?
