I just browsed the list of Thunderbird add-ons on
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird
and couldn't find the External Editor extension.  I think I've seen it there a while ago, though.  Any idea why it was removed?

 Hi,

Is there any way that we can get this included in the Mozilla Add-ons? Many more people would find it and I would feel safer about using it if it were there.
