Since this is a cross-platform plugin for a cross-platform browser, I suppose it's too much to ask that there be support for the Microsoft OLE way of passing a file to an editor.  This would mean that the editor would not block after calling as is required with this plugin.

If anyone knows of such a beast (for Thunderbird) please let me know.

Yes, that would be too much wink

Anyway, what do you think the Thunderbird window should do after it has launched the external non blocking editor with OLE ?
How would you like it to know when to update it's content... ?
