Problem at installation |

I followed the instructions to the letter, but when I try to access the server, I get to a page that says "Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /~renlapal/wipha/ on this server.
Apache/1.3.33 Server at ordinateur-de-ren-lapalme.local Port 80"
I really followed the instructions exactly (used the installer, turned on the web server...). What could be causing this. Please help ! |

This might be either a unix permission problem on your account or on the Sites directory, or a problem with the Apache configuration.
The installer is supposed to set this properly, I can't tell you why it didn't.
One thing the installer doesn't do because it's supposed to be correct already (standard MacOS user account config):
your home directory and the Sites directory must be drwxr-xr-x. |

I just loaded Leopard and I'm having this same problem with my WiPhA install. I get the forbidden page when I try to access anything in my sites folder. I'm able to use my computer webserver folder where my homepage is, but when I try to use wipha in that directory, I just get the php code. Maybe in 10.5, the standard permissions structure has changed. |

Hi,
getting the php code in Leopard just means that php is not activated. The web server has changed, it is now Apache 2, and the configuration files have been moved. Wipha 2.2 installer is not ready to handle Leopard, but you can activate it manually in /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: just uncomment the line beginning with LoadModule php5_module.
You may also want to add this at the end of the file, to take wipha .htaccess into account:

Thanks for the quick response. It's still just giving me the code. It's not an urgent fix or anything. Do you plan to update it for Leopard? |

Yes,
I'll update the installer to works on Apache2 configuration files.
I hope everything else hasn't changed (permissions and so on). It's working fine on my Mac, at least. |

I think the permissions have changed as now I get this message when I login -
Warning:
wipha/changeperm has not the correct permission. This could prevent you from parsing the database or displaying pictures properly.
Please correct this issue to keep going:
chmod 4755 /Users/<user>/Sites/wipha/changeperm
I placed the wipha folder in my webserver/documents folder when my homepage is and it works after I made the changes to the Apache2 config file. Now I just get this message once I login. What permissions do I need to change? |

Well,
as the message said, you must change the permission of changeperm using the terminal.
chmod 4755 /you/set/the/correct/path/to/changeperm
It should be ok. |
