actif Sujet n° 167  Large (10000) photo library

I cannot get iPhoto 6 (latest version) to download my complete 10000+ library of photos using wipha 2.2. It appears that iphoto6 disappears. It just stops running. It looks like it loads just over 4000 pictures before exiting.

Is there a limitation on how big a library I can photocast with iPhoto 6 or is wipha 2.2 tickling a memory loss bug in iPhoto 6?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi,

do I understand what you try to do ? you want to export your iphoto library with wipha, and to connect to the wipha rss using another iPhoto ? Then iPhoto dies while loading the photos from wipha. Right ?

In this case, I don't think wipha may cause any trouble. Actually, 4000 begins to be a serious library, but wipha has already been working with a 10000 photo library, even if it gets very slow.

So, maybe it is iPhoto ? I don't know how large a photocast it's supposed to handle properly...

Yes, you understand correctly. I didn't know if the downloaded xml could be changed so that iPhoto might handle it better. I don't know how it could be changed, however so I am at a loss to offer any further suggestions.

I did modify the php code to make the "film" albums show up in the album popup menu. I just need to find a way to sort them by date.

Thanks.

Well, I don't see what you could change in the xml file. It almost follows the standard. The only difference is that I don't indicate the picture size, because the picture is compressed when being sent, at a time when the xml has already been generated. But this doesn't seem to harm, and I don't think your trouble could be related.
